5 Songs I’m Obsessed with Right Now

I haven’t done a music obsession post in quite a while. Since I just downloaded a few songs for an upcoming mini road trip, I thought it would be the perfect time to share what I’ve been grooving to!

#1: One Republic – Love Runs Out
Ok, is it just me or does the lead singer of OneRepublic remind you of Macklemore?! Watch the video I posted below and compare it to this one. Or compare the OneRepublic dancing in this video to this one. SAME. DUDE. Right?!

Anyways, I can NOT get enough of this song and the video makes me LOVE it even more (if that’s possible). Turn up your speakers and WATCH!

#2: Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj – Bang, Bang
This one is apparently too new to have a video, but I’m sure it will be full of hot girls in hot outfits. In the meantime, close your eyes and just TRY not to shake your booty!

#3: Meghan Trainor – All About that Bass
I love every single thing about this video, including the sassy dancing guy. I want to hug him and squeeze him and then bust out my best dance moves.

#4: The Madden Brothers – We are Done
Here’s one that I will definitely be singing along with at the top of my lungs. You know, if Jack isn’t soundly sleeping in the backseat. I didn’t know what to expect with the video and it totally crept up on me and gave me a big ol’ lump in the throat.

#5: KONGOS – Come With Me Now
Ok, this song is an AWESOME song to run to. When I was doing my last 5k and this song came on, I bust out in a rocking out dance-run that kind of freaked everyone out around me. Whatever, worth it.

#6: Bonus Song!
Oh, did I say FIVE songs I’m obsessed with? Well, I’m adding in one that is always on my obsession list because it has MY NAME in it!

What songs have you been listening to nonstop lately? Is there a song that has your name in it that you like to groove to? Do you make special road trip mixes?

  1. I like all of your choices. I would add “Rum” by Brothers Osborne, and basically anything by Sam Grow. Fun Fact #1: I’ve been following both groups for years because they’re both from Southern MD. Fun Fact #2: I went to high school with Brothers Osborne and the video for “Rum” was shot at our local bar with all the locals (no Barbies in bikinis). 🙂

  2. I’m so out of the music scene it isn’t even funny. I’ve taken the nerdiest of leaps into listening to virtually nothing but audio books and NPR. Wah wah waaaaaaah. That said, I have been a Fountains of Wayne devotee since 1996 and every time I hear “Julie” I think of you. Then I usually text you about it. I’m like that.

    1. LOL I didn’t even realize Fountains of Wayne had released anything since Stacy’s Mom. I’m THAT out of touch. Most of my iPod contents are from the 90s.

      1. ThatAshGirl, the song is not very new… probably about 10 years old or so. However, it’s the only one with my name in it that I know (besides a SUPER old song my dad likes to sing) so I loooove it. =)
