February 2017 Birchbox Reveal: the Curated Box

I’ve been getting my monthly Birchbox subscription for quite a while now, but for the first time I decided to choose their curated box. When you pick one of their special curated boxes you know exactly which items will be included, rather than being surprised with a box built for your specifications.

When I peeked at the February curated box, I was interested enough in a couple of the items that I decided to go for it. Want to see what I got?

Item #1: Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry

This serum is supposed to be applied to your hair before you blow dry to help reduce the damage of drying your hair. I usually blow dry my hair on winter workdays, so I’ll stick this in my bathroom and try this in the mornings to see if there is any difference.

Item #2: CLEAN Reserve Parfum

I’m not really a huge perfume person and I’m super picky about my scents, but I knew this one would be in the box, so that’s fine. This scent is a fruity and floral scent that isn’t overpowering, so I’ll add it to my “stuff to give my sister’s” pile.

Item #3: The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick in Saucy Marsala

I received my first PBJ Smoothie stick from Birchbox almost a year ago and it’s still my absolute favorite. The color goes on great on top of a little chapstick and really lasts. Also, I don’t find it overwhelming to swipe a bit on in the morning. Love, love, love this and can’t wait to try the new color!

Item #4: Acure Organics Purifying Fruit Peel

I love a great face peel and can’t wait to try this one. It contains active enzymes from papaya, bitter cherry and blue agave to purify pores and reveal a more even and glowy complexion. Sounds great!

Item #5: Vasanti Eye Wonder 2.0 Super Powered Eye Cream

I love the Vasanti face scrub I got in a previous Birchbox, so I am very interested to try this eye cream. It is an amplified version of their original version and contains a clinical mix of peptides, botanicals, and vitamins to hydrate under eye skin and reduce dark circles. I just rubbed some on in between typing sentences and it goes on nice and smooth. Crossing my fingers for my circles to start disappearing immediately!

  1. I haven’t gotten birchbox for a year or so but still buy things from them pretty often. My favorite boxes currently are ipsy and wantable. I used to get glossy box and boxy charm too they were really good as well. I only stopped those and birchbox because I had so many products that I couldn’t keep up lol!

    1. Hi Katie- I just checked it and when you click through it gives you the special code for 50% off your first box. It is only for new Birchbox subscribers though, so if you are using an email that previously got Birchbox it might not work. =)

  2. What color of the pb&j lipstick do you use? I loved the stick, but the color I got was an awful rasin color that clahed completely with my plae skin, red hair and natrually red lips

  3. That Bumble and Bumble serum is good stuff! I got a sample from Sephora and bought the full size. As I’ve gotten older my hair has gotten more dry and even my expensive Chi blow dryer just makes my hair frizz out. Add to that the damage of daily flat ironing and, yeah well….This stuff really helped when I got married a few years ago and grew my my hair out for the updo. It really helped keep it healthy and less frizzy.
