I’m a 2015 Bloggie Award Winner!

Remember when I told you that I was nominated for a Bloggie Award? Well, I didn’t really expect to win.

I have been fortunate to have been named a finalist for three years in a row and figured I’d be the ‘Susan Lucci’ of the Bloggies. Which was totally fine with me. This really is one of those situations where “it’s an honor just to be nominated” is totally true.

I mean, the Weblog Awards (aka the Bloggies) are kind of a HUGE deal – they are the longest running and one of the largest blog awards in the world. All votes are determined by internet voting by the public and they are even covered by major news organizations.

The winners were announced last night on twitter, but I didn’t follow the tweets. In the past I’ve gotten really excited only to have my bubble burst as I watched the winners be announced. I figured I’d spare myself the indigestion and just check their website this morning to see who ended up winning each category.

I got a text from my friend Katie right before I went to sleep with the awesome news that her blog, Words for Worms, had won the category of Best Book Blog.

Well, Travis was already sleeping so I did a silent little victory dance, flipped my phone face-down and went to sleep thinking happy thoughts for Katie.

When my alarm went off this morning, I saw that Katie had sent a follow up text about 20 minutes later… I had won too.

I WON!

2015 Bloggie Awards

I can’t believe it but I actually WON!

So I want to thank you. When I started this blog four years ago, I had about 25 page views in the first month. That’s it. And I was THRILLED that there were actually people out there interested in what I have to say. Now, I have more than 25 page views and some of the most positive, supportive and amazing readers that I could even imagine.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have helped both me and my blog grow. I couldn’t have done it without you! HUGS for EVERYONE!

  1. Congrats from a fellow finalist! It’s pretty fun to win, isn’t it? Good luck in the future, too, I’m sure you’ll be back a lot in the years to come.
