Loser, Baby

So the Pocketful of Quirky Grace DietBet ended this week and um… I didn’t win.

I was hoping that running our very own DietBet would kick my booty back into workout mode, since my first one went so well. But it didn’t.

I mean, I lost a few pounds.
Pretty much the same three pounds I’ve been losing and gaining for the last couple months.

And I KNOW what I’m doing wrong.
I’m not trying.

That fire that I wanted to be lit under my butt? Well, it didn’t light.

I think I know the problem though. When I started my first DietBet I was SO OVER my weight. I had just hit an all-time high and I was PISSED at myself for getting that way. I used the DietBet as my chance to finally get back into it – I worked out 5 mornings a week and I ate super healthy. Surprise, surprise… I dropped the pounds.

In fact, I dropped all the pounds back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
I felt better. I feel like I look better. And my clothes fit better.

So my next goal was to get to my pre-husband weight. And that is where I failed. Because I’m not really feeling bad about where I am right now. I mean, I want to lose more pounds. But I look okay. And I like to eat yummy food. And I like to sleep in.

Which is why I lost my DietBet.
But I’m kind of okay with that, because I’m maintaining my weight and I feel pretty good about myself.

The final results haven’t come through yet, but it seems like a lot of the other people playing along won. So CONGRATS to everyone for their hard work – whether you won or lost. Our group lost over 190 pounds, which is an AMAZING amount of work! I’m super proud of everyone who was a part of the DietBet.

I just need to figure out how to get my fire lit again…

  1. As of this morning I had .2 lbs to lose!!! I’m officially submitting my weigh-in first thing in the morning and if that .2 lbs isn’t gone, you’ll be hearing me scream!!

  2. I’m proud of you. I didn’t participate in diet bet, but y’all inspired me to try out a new workout routine. Body Pump classes are kicking my ass… In a good way :). You’re beautiful at any size, FYI. XOXO

  3. Any weight lost isn’t weight gained so that’s never a bad thing! I’m doing a 30 day squat challenge (in 18 more days I’ll be up to 350 squats A DAY) and it’s kicking my ass….no pun intended. After that is the 30 day plank challenge which I know is going to be tough. Its all about keeping at it.

    1. That is totally true and I am 3 pounds less than I was when I weighed-in for the challenge. So I guess that counts for something, right?! I’m just STUCK at this weight and I don’t have the willpower to make myself power through it. You’re squat challenge sounds CRAZY HARD!

  4. I’m gonna make it! I think I have a pound to go! Though I’m still 10 pounds behind in my 6-month Diet Bet but I’ll get there (I’m determined not to lose my $250, money is such a motivator).

  5. We’ve all been there. I participated, but I have a lot to lose, so it is easier when one isn’t straddling the ‘normal’ weight range. You look terrific, and if you feel terrific, who cares? 😀 Thank you for motivating me and allowing me to join your little circle of gambling weight losers. 😉 Cheers!

  6. I’m just happy to be down six pounds. I’ve been watching my weight creep up the past couple of years, so it is good to be relearning how to eat and what changes I need to make. Thanks for the kickstart opportunity!

  7. I lost too.
I lost weight but STILL lost the bet which kind of pee’s me off.
Next time, lets do the Diet Bet with just four people.
    Deal???

Now lets go get some ice cream.
