Spam Me with Your Book Recommendations!

I last begged for book recommendations a couple years ago with In Dire Need of Good Reads and I’m right there again. I’m about to go on a trip, so I want to download a bunch of books to take with me on my Kindle, rather than weighing down my luggage with books from the library.

I have Amazon Unlimited, so there are a ton of books that I can borrow for under that membership, but I could really use some recommendations!

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • FUN
  • Sassy
  • Romance
  • Mysteries
  • Silly Chic Lit
  • YA is cool too
  • LIGHT AND FLUFFY!

What do you suggest? Bonus points if it’s available on Kindle Unlimited!

  1. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (the movie Love, Simon was based on this)

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy (and then watch the Netflix movie if you haven’t!)

    Roomies by Christina Lauren

    The Royal We

Everything, Everything (not light, but really good!)

The Winter Street trilogy (not entirely light, but perfect for the winter season!)

  2. Veronica Speedwell novels (almost romance, Victorian mysteries). The Night Circus.
Do you read Gail Carriger? Her Finishing School series is super easy reading, the Parasol Protectorate is fun adult light, and the San Andreas shifters is m)m make you blush supported by a good read.

  3. For silly chic lit, Lisa Scottoline’s Benny Rosato series is always good. She is a top lawyer, has her own firm. All women, and a lot of the plotlines are funny, yet not just fluff. I just finished Exposed, and that was cute. Nancy Thayer’s books are good. Jennifer Weiner, too, and she adds humor to her books. They can be a mix of serious and humorous. Good luck!

  4. Jen has great taste. I can second the recommendations for anything by Becky Albertalli, Jenny Han, or Christina Lauren. Dating You/Hating You by Christina Lauren was one of the funniest romances I’ve ever read- start there! I also really enjoyed The Hating Game by Sally Thorne and The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang… And the Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory! I’ve been on a bit of a cheeky romance tear lately. Oh! And When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon! I loved that book so much. These are all delightful, significantly less cheesy than a Hallmark movie but every bit as satisfying. I haven’t been in the mood for heavy duty literature lately, the world is MORE THAN ENOUGH. Enjoy! You have so many delicious books ahead of you!

  5. Sorry, most of my recommendations are not Kindle Unlimited (KU).

The Fox and O’Hare (not KU) series by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg (of the Monk TV series) is a fun and funny set of books.

**In Fairleigh Field (KU**), by Rhys Bowen is a good historical mystery/romance — Also her Royal Spyness series is fantastic,(not KU).

The Alice Network, by Kate Quinn — great historical WWI novel about female spies. Touch of romance. (not KU)

Chick lit — Anything by Mary Kay Andrews (can’t see anything in KU though)

  6. Great fun reads.
When life gives you lulu lemons
    The bucket list, the novel.
    Crazy Rich Asian’s Series
How to walk away. (not fluffy but a great read!)
Artemis – funny and mystery with sci fi different but absolutely quick and entertaining
    Anything by Janet Evonivich
Saw someone else recommended Kiss Qoitient
    I second that.
    Elinor Oliphant is fine
    Sophia of silicon valley
And i love all Danielle Steele
