Running Bra PSA

Okay friends, I wasn’t going to write this post… but then after this weekend, I realized that I really have to. It’s actually a requirement at this point. It’s a public service announcement. It is absolutely mandatory for me to share my secrets with the world.

I mean, there are only so many times I can drive down the road and look over to see some well-endowed lady running and almost getting knocked out by her flying tatas.

It’s painful.
And not just for her.

I get it. Really, I do.
It’s hard to run when you are blessed in the chest.

And for years, I doubled-up with my running bras… trying to squish those babies down to as flat as can be. Inevitably I’d end up with a weird looking uniboob situation, with the added issue of the shape of the bra smushed into my shoulders so hard that it would take a full afternoon for me to go back to normal. Sure, I’d be able to squish them down… but how are you supposed to run a 5k if you pass out from the compression?

I’ve talked about it before, but it obviously needs to be said again… GET THIS SPORTS BRA!

It is called the Panache Woman’s Underwire Sports Bra and it is the magical unicorn of sports bras!

I bought two of them in May 2013 and they are both still going strong. The bra comes in 12 different colors on Amazon (unfortunately all of them aren’t available in every single size) and is priced around $70. YES, that is more expensive than going to Target and buying a thin exercise bra that doesn’t work and then sits in the back of your drawer for three years until you finally donate it to Goodwill.

Do yourself a favor, BUY IT.

For larger chested ladies, I highly recommend hooking the little clip at the back of the bra to make it a racer back. It offers the prefect amount of support without making you feel like you might die from suffocation. Also, it’s CUTE. Like, really cute.

There you go, your ‘The More You Know…” PSA for the day. Share this with your ‘blessed in the chest’ besties and they will thank you!

  1. Thanks for sharing your review of this sports bra. I am still searching for that wonder sports bra so I will definitely check it out. Guilty owner of several sports bras that sit at the back of the drawer.

  2. Thank you for this! I’ve been thinking about buying better sports bras lately; while I’ve stopped the double-upped compression bras (welts!), my current bras are just aging out of rotation. With so many options though, I didn’t know where to start. As a “blessed in the chest” lady myself, it’s really worthwhile to know this has been vetted by a real person whose opinion I can trust! I like that fact that this has an underwire AND is convertible AND does its job! Definitely checking it out today!

    Thanks!

  3. So funny story – I actually have that sports bra and I have turned ALL of my friends onto it. It is seriously the best one out there and I love that it goes up to the bigger sizes that you can’t find as easily. Thanks so much for sharing this because GIRL I FEEL YOU.

  4. I am not well endowed at all but when I was pregnant I was and I had this very issue – I ended up wearing two to make sure they stay put. I read something somewhere saying that it can really affect the elasticity in your bosom if you’re not fully supported when running and I wanted to make sure they stayed pert haha! This is so helpful – if I ever get my preggo boobs again I’ll be sure to invest!

  5. I totally needed to see this post tonight. I’m currently looking for a better sports bra than what I have. Thanks for sharing. Will check this one out.

  6. I have been right there with you! Work out bras are so hard to find. I had an excellent one that looked awful but worked great. I used it for years before it somehow disappeared. I might have to look into this! I just wish it weren’t so expensive.

  7. YES!!! I needed this in my life. I am not as well endowed but I do get tired of it hurting just the little bit that it does just because I am not wearing the right bra!1 Thanks for sharing and I will definitely check that one out!
