Beach Time

If you follow me on Facebook, you know that I took last week off to go to the beach. My family shares a beach house in Ocean City, so I usually try to get down there as much as possible during the summer.

Over Memorial Day weekend, the house was full of family and friends with 10 of us running around. Then, by Monday afternoon everyone left and it was just Jack and me.

For the first hour after everyone leaves, it always seems super quiet and weird. I usually wonder how I’m going to entertain Jack alone for 3 more days, so I decided to bring you along on our adventures…

Within a half hour of everyone leaving, Jack and I found some ice cream in the freezer and ate it right out of the carton while curled up on the couch watching a movie.

We ate a lot of donuts. In fact, we had donuts EVERY morning and I’m currently suffering sprinkles withdrawal.

OC 3

Lots of digging, seashell finding and sand pizza making.

We can’t forget the random outfit pictures. Here’s the one Jack took of me:

And here is his best style blogger pose:

We can’t forget that game where you take a picture looking naked on the beach…

Just kidding, I’m not actually flashing my jiggly-bits to anyone.

Since we tended to have pretty quiet days on the beach, each evening we would go somewhere with a playground so that Jack could run around and get all his sillies out. One night that was the local Chick-fil-a, but for two nights in a row we set up shop at Fish Tales.

Add in a few naps, some Kindle reading/watching, and trying to sleep while Jack stuck his foot in the middle of my back and that’s the whole rest of our week! I actually love having the extra one-on-one time with my little guy and will totally cry my eyes out when he no longer wants to snuggle with me…

  1. I love this post. It might be my favorite. Jack will cherish these memories his whole life and I know you will, too. I’ve never heard of sand pizza, so thank you for including a picture – so cute.

  2. Love the pictures! It looks like you both had an amazing time together. Love the name of that restaurant.

This looks like a perfect way to spend the week resting and relaxing. Glad that you had a great time.

  3. Looks like you guys have fun! I try to take a trip like this with my two boys every summer to my family’s place in the UP of Michigan. My not happen this year though, because my oldest is now in his second year of high school and super busy this summer. And don’t worry about Jack not wanting to snuggle anytime soon. My boys are 10 and 15 and they still love snuggling me!
