My Style: April 2023

I was looking through my April style photos and realized that this month was a super casual month. We went on our Spring Break adventures, where I wore leggings every day. Then, when we returned I only went into the office a few days.

So, let’s first take a look at those office outfits:

Yellow dress: I love this flowy dress from Anthropologie. Last time, I wore it with a jean jacket. This time I just shoved the sleeves up and wore it with a pair of tan sandals. It’s probably borderline for ‘office’ casualness at a law firm. But nobody made any comments and it was comfy.

Top & Skirt: I just received this NPL moss green linen skirt and could not wait to wear it. For the office, I paired it with a blue floral Lucky brand blouse that I had thrifted and my tan sandals. I can not stress how much I love this shade of green and will be wearing this skirt dozens of times this summer!

Purple dress: I’ve had this Leota dress for years and it’s great to throw on when I need to look a little more dressed up. I had a full-day of work in Baltimore, followed by a work event with a bunch of attorneys. This was perfect for being comfortable and looking professional. It also helped me find myself in event photos in an ocean of black.

Casual outfits from this month:

Austin T-shirt + Skirt: This redwood-colored skirt is the exact same as the moss green version, just in a different color (and secondhand). I love it so much – the weight of the linen, the snaps down the front, the pockets. It’s everything I want in a skirt that can be dressed up or dressed down. For a weekend look, I paired it with a t-shirt I bought last time we were in Austin and some comfy Birkenstock sandals.

Olive dress: Sticking with my linen obsession, I bought this olive-colored dress secondhand when it popped up in my size. It is meant to be layered, as the sides are cut lower, so I paired it with a striped tank top. Love this look – which I call ‘not for the man’s gaze but awfully comfy’ – and will be wearing it on repeat all summer long.
