I was recently asked to check out the Amazon Original Series, Tumble Leaf, and jumped at the opportunity to watch a few episodes before the second season debuts on Friday. The multi-Emmy award-winning original preschool series is available for Prime members on Amazon Prime and focuses on fostering lifelong creative learning in its young viewers.

Tumble leaf - 1

While Jack has his favorite shows, I’m always looking for fun kid-appropriate entertainment that incorporates learning. Tumble Leaf centers around Fig, a cute blue fox, and his best friend, a caterpillar named Stick. In each episode they embark on a new nature-filled adventure and discover science through play.

I like that the show combines learning with silliness. For example, in one of the episodes they learn about fish… but there is also a fish ‘dance party’ that totally cracked Jack up.

The colors are so bright and the animation is so crisp, it’s light-years away from the cartoons I watched when I was a kid. Each episode includes discovery of some sort, which is right up Jack’s alley. He loves the chance to follow along with a show and figure out the answers along with the main characters.

Speaking of dance party, I just had to include this dancing crab for Cinco de Mayo!

We really enjoyed the opportunity to watch Tumble Leaf before the second season comes out on Friday. If you are interested in watching the Amazon Original Series, you can find it here: Tumble Leaf on Amazon.

  1. Awesome review! We are Amazon Prime members, so we’ll definitely be checking this out. My boys also have their favorites, but I love finding new, fun shows for them.

  2. My son is too old for kids’shows, but he used to LOVE Peep and the Big, Wide World. I loved it too. It was cute, funny, easy to follow, and taught science. 🙂

  3. My kids love Tumble Leaf and Peg & Cat. My real reason for the comment is that this the last post that showed up in my Feedly. I miss your posts. Please Help! 🙂
