It’s time to switch over and start a new yearly book list! As I finish each book, I share it and a mini review in real-time on my Instagram Stories and I also keep an updated list here.
If you’re interested in my previous lists, you can find them here: 2020 Book List, 2021 Book List, 2022 Book List, 2023 Book List, 2024 Book List and 2025 Book List. Here are the books I’ve read so far in 2026:
| Book #, Information & Link | Mini Book Review |
| Book #1 of 2026: Call Me Anytime by Max Monroe | Desperate for money, Hannah May takes what she thought was a job at a telemarketing company… but to her shock is a phone sex hotline. To make things more chaotic, the last person who worked this hotline was murdered so she works with a hot detective for the most awkward job ever. You guys. The beginning of this book was so hilarious I was laughing out loud at the airport. After a strong and very funny beginning, it settled into a fun who-done-it with a romance and some family warm and fuzzies too. Fun book and perfect to make a long plane ride go faster! |
| Book #2 of 2026: Kiss and Don’t Tell by Megan Quinn | A woman gets stranded in the Canadian Rockies and seeks refuge in a cabin occupied by five professional hockey players, one of whom is her ex-boyfriend’s half-brother. I’ve enjoyed this authors books in the past, but this one fell a little flat for me. I enjoyed the silly group of men (who the series is about), but the romance was just kind of meh for me. Not sure if I’ll pick up another in the series or just move on. If you like a good hockey series romance, you may enjoy this one! |
| Book #3 of 2026: The Kinda Secret Pineapple Island Swingers’ Resort by Jade Dollston | A romance writer books a resort stay as a writing retreat to finish her latest book, but is shocked to find out she accidentally booked it at a swingers resort. Super funny book and a very good romance with another accidental guest. Free on kindle unlimited. |
| Book #4 of 2026: Streams and Schemes by Rebecca Kinkade | A neighbors-to-lovers romantic comedy about two strangers who receive a ‘the world is ending’ emergency alert, decide to hookup… and then lived. Awkward. Here’s the thing — the romance was fine, the scheming was fine, but the spice was… not it for me. I totally got ‘the ick’ and had to skip over some parts. READ the trigger warning at the beginning and make an informed decision. |
| Book #5 of 2025: Wait With Me by Amy Daws | A romance novelist suffering from writer’s block sneaks into a Tire Depot waiting room, where she finds inspiration in the presence of a rugged and charming mechanic. My mental health needed this book — a low stakes romance with a swoony mechanic and a cute, kooky romance writer. Perfect romcom escape and good enough that I’ll read the next in the series. |
| Book #6 of 2026: Next In Line by Amy Daws (Wait With Me book 2) | The second book in the Wait With Me series and this one focuses on the sister from the first book. We’ve got grumpy/sunshine, secret romance and casual friends who fall hard. It was a fun little romance and we still get lots of the couple from the first book too. There was even a fun teaser at the end to line things up for the third book in the series… I can’t wait! |
| Book #7 of 2026: One Moment Please by Amy Daws (Wait With Me book 3) | Book three in this series focuses on Lynsey, the best friend of the main character from the first book. She’s super kooky, which I love… but the love interest in this one is not my favorite. I don’t feel like he had enough time for his redemption and the end felt a bit rushed to get to a happy ending. Still, a fun read and good continuation of the series. |
| Book #8 of 2026: Free Falling by Jill Shalvis (Colburn Brothers 2) | The second book in the Colburn Brothers series and I’ve been looking forward to this release! Love the Colburn family and enjoyed getting to read Emma and Caleb’s story. I wish there was some resolution on the workplace issue, but I’m guessing that end will be tied up in the last book (coming in July). |
| Book #9 of 2026: Obsidian by KF Breene | So it took me a bit to get into this because it is a spin off of another series (Sin & Chocolate) that I haven’t read. By the first 1/3 it didn’t really matter much and this works as a stand alone 2-book series. I love Daisy — she’s an absolute badass and a great match for Tarian. I appreciated the end of book 1 where they kind of recapped everything important leading into book too. I’m also glad I waited until both books were published before starting, because I zoomed from the first to the second without stopping. A fun read for those who enjoy fantasy, world building, strong female leads, and morally gray love interests. |
| Book #10 of 2026: Diamond Dust by KF Breene | The second and final book of the series and it was everything I was hoping for! Love, love, love Daisy and the growing relationship with Tarian. Enjoyed the found family hi-jinx. And loved the kicking of butts that needed to be kicked. Another fantastic series by KF Breene! |
| Book #11 of 2026: First Witches Club by Maisey Yates | Three betrayed wives discover magic at an apothecary shop, using spells for revenge before finding unexpected new love and personal empowerment. I loved this book, the relationships, and the growth of each of the three main characters. It is has well developed multifaceted characters and a wonderful focus on friendship and love and felt like a wonderful treat. |
| Book #12 of 2026: In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde (Windy City series) | The last book in the Windy City series finally came out this week, so obviously I had to download it immediately. This last book centers on the coach Emmett Montgomery, coach of the players in previous books and dad of Miller from Caught Up. Loved the addition of Reese, as a badass boss lady and first female MLB team owner. Fun and spicy romance and a great ending to the series. |
| Book #13 of 2026: Just for the Cameras by Megan Quinn | Oh my gosh, this book was absolutely delicious. We’ve got a grumpy football player and a nerdy zookeeper who enter a PR relationship. Lots of grumpy/sunshine and a delightful ‘he falls first’ and so, so hard. The guy friend’s group had me literally laughing out loud and the spice was extra spicy! Loved it. |
| Book #14 of 2026: Mistakes We Made (Story Lake Book 2) by Lucy Score | The second book in the Story Lake series and it was a wonderful return to the crazy town and family hi-jinx! Loved the Zoey and Gage relationship. Also loved the rest of the family and the continuation of Hazel and Cam’s life. Absolutely hilarious with heart. However, they really need to fix the editing/spacing mistakes on the kindle version — it was frustrating and confusing with no page breaks at the end of the scene. |
| Book #15 of 2026: Magical Midlife Rogue (Leveling Up Book 12) by KF Breene | This is honestly one of those winding series that I hope goes on forever. The crew is fun and chaotic and hilarious as always. I love the growth of our favorite friends over the series. Basically every time I get an email saying a new book has come out, I immediately download it and know I’m in for a good time. |
| Book #16 of 2026: A Ghastly Catastrophe (A Veronica Speedwell mystery) by Deanna Rayburn | While it’s a bit out of my normal reading, as I’m not typically one for period pieces, I do love the Veronica Speedwell series. In this latest adventure, Veronica and Stoker investigate deaths linked to a secret society claiming supernatural powers. Another fun addition to the series! |
| Book #17 of 2026: The Family You Make by Jill Shalvis | A near death experience bonds Levi and Jane, resulting in a “fake dating” trope that leads to a real connection. Add in some found family and mostly closed door romance and it’s a sweet read with very low spice. This is the first in a connected series, but I’m not sure if I enjoyed it enough to continue with it. |
| Book #18 of 2026: Annie Bot by Sierra Greer | Annie is a custom AI girlfriend created to be the perfect companion to her human owner, Doug. While Doug says he loves that her AI makes her seem more like a real woman, as she continues to learn and grow she becomes less perfect and it affects the power dynamics of their relationship. The writing of this book is sublime and within the first 10%, I was already rooting for the robot over the humans. The controlling human who grooms her into his “ideal” companion gave me the ick and reminded me very much of the “nice guy” type of man who feels he is owed the world for doing the bare minimum. Loved this book and can’t stop thinking about it. |
| Book #19 of 2026: Main Character Energy by Kendall Ryan | A grumpy morgue technician’s quiet life is disrupted when a charming firefighter-paramedic makes it his mission to get her to smile, leading to an unexpected romance. This book is so much better than the cover. Sure, it has Hallmark move vibes, but it is also surprisingly real and sweet and I love a happily ever after with a look into the future. Free on Kindle Unlimited. |
| Book #20 of 2026: | …Coming Soon… |
