Dressing Room Snaps: A Winter Trip to the Boden Outlet

Back in May 2017, my friend Jenni and I made a little pilgrimage to the Boden Outlet in Pittston, Pennsylvania. You can read the full post here. While we had a wonderful time trying on all the spring/summery goodness, we decided that we also needed to do a winter trip. We finally were able to schedule a day over this past weekend and I can’t wait to show you my dressing room photos!

Once again, I tried to keep my expectations as low as possible going into my visit. Since they continuously have new items, you don’t really know what to expect when you visit. Going into our shopping trip, I was thinking that I’d like to find a wrap dress for work, a fancy dress for some upcoming events, and possibly a new leather purse. I also really wanted to try on one of their wrap tops (to pair with skirts), so I can figure out what size would fit me best.

The pricing was the same from our last trip

And here’s a look around at the gorgeous store:

As I did previously, I made myself at home at the 10/12/14 racks, since I typically will wear a 10 or 12 in Boden. This time, I also checked out the tables where they have an assortment of shirts and sweaters, as well as the shoe area.

Let’s check out some dressing room snaps!

Gray textured split-side sweater, size medium

I’ve never tried on a Boden sweater before, so I figured I’d give this one a try even though it was a medium. I usually like a flowy look, so I size up to a large or higher. There is a super nice texture to this fabric and it is really soft, even though there is some wool in it. I wore leggings under a dress to shop, but I think this will look great with a pair of dark wash jeans. I can even get extra fancy and layer a striped top underneath so it can peek out on the sides. I couldn’t find this one on their website, but Boden sweaters typically range from $100 – 200. This one came home with me for $30.

Navy & Gold Breton, size unknown

I found this striped Breton in the shirt piles on the table and its super weird because there is no size on it at all. Perhaps it was a mistake, so it ended up at the outlet. It’s a larger size, so it fits with a nice drapy look and I love the navy color with the gold sparkly stripes. The weight is also a little thicker – like a cross between a cotton top and a sweatshirt – so it will be great for the cold weather. I checked the Boden website and it’s quite similar to this one or this one. This top also came home with me for $30 and will be put into weekend rotation ASAP.

Navy long sleeve wrap top, size US10

Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of this on in the dressing room. This is one of those tops that I was hoping I’d find to try on. I see them on other Boden ladies and thought it would be great to pair with my closet of crazy patterned skirts. I usually wear a US10 in Boden’s jersey wrap dresses, and the US10 fit well in this wrap top too. Super pleased with this $30 purchase, because the same shirt is $60 on their website.

Tie Back Midi Dress, size US8

I grabbed this pretty pink jersey dress in a size US8, which normally would be a bit too snug but the fabric was pretty forgiving. This exact dress is currently on sale on the Boden website (only in a size 8) for $88.80. I liked it, but it didn’t knock my socks off… so this one went back on the rack.

Striped Maxi Dress, size US12A

I wanted to show you this dress, because it is a “ankle” cut but I’m 5’7” and the length touches the floor. I really liked the stripes on this dress and felt that they were pretty flattering. I can’t find this version on their website, but typically maxi dresses are sold for $150 and at the outlet all dresses are $40. I almost bought this one, but I have a couple maxi dresses in my closet and don’t really reach for them very often.

Black faux wrap dress with runched back, size US12

I’m usually drawn to a lots of patterns – especially when it comes to my Boden jersey dresses – but this pretty black faux wrap dress called to me. The front has a nice cross over top, and the back is super pretty with the runching. It’s also got long sleeves, which makes it perfect for work this time of year. Boden wrap jersey dresses usually sell for $140 and this one was $40…so I snapped it up!

Silver sequin tassle flats, size 38.5

I’ve never tried Boden shoes before, because they are out of my price range. Also, I wasn’t really sure what my size would be in their sizing. I basically tried on every shoe I liked at the outlet and found that these sequined shoes in a size 38.5 fit my feet perfectly (I usually wear an 8 or 8.5). I’m guessing these shoes were from the holiday collection for around $150, so I was happy to splurge a little and get them for myself for $50. Did I need them? Nope. But do they make me feel darn cute? Heck yeah!

When it comes to shopping at Boden I tend to go for their cute prints, but on this trip I ended up with more ‘basics’ to add to my closet. Besides those sequined shoes… they are anything but basic! I think that each item will immediately get a lot of wear in my closet so I’m pretty happy with my Boden Outlet scores!

Did you enjoy my terrible dressing room pictures from the Boden outlet? Did I leave something behind that you think I should have bought?

  1. You look great in the side-split sweater outfit! And I love the black dress 🙂

Ps – I appreciate you listing the sizes so I know what to order for myself 😛

  2. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this blog post! I wish I lived even remotely close to the Boden outlet. But I can live vicariously through you. You look great in Boden and the navy striped top is particularly cute! I have been eyeing the yellow coat and I saw it in one of your pictures. Wish I could snap it up!
