February Thrift Haul

Just to keep everyone on their toes, this month’s thrift haul is more of a *secondhand* haul… as I didn’t have the opportunity to hit up any of my favorite thrift stores. However, I had a lovely adventure day with my friend, and we visited many secondhand clothing/antiques stores and consignment shops!

Let’s take a look at what I found this month:

Glasses, $6

These fun clear faceted frame glasses were jumbled in with a bunch of other glasses and sunglasses at a vintage store. They are actually readers and if I had to guess, I’d say they are a 1.5 or 2.0 prescription… which works well for me since I now have readers in basically every room in my house.

Athleta top, $7.50

I love Athleta clothing – their items are just made so well, are incredibly flattering, and also last for years and years. This top is a simple cropped tank top, but it is silky smooth and I like the fit. I think it will be great over the summer paired with leggings or running skirts. I tried it on with the skirt I was wearing and it also might be a fun tank to pair with skirts on hot days.

Knit sweater, $12

I had been looking for a flowy, cropped short sleeved knit sweater last year and never ended up finding one that I loved. I found this one at a new-to-me secondhand store and it was exactly what I had been wanting. This will be great paired with pretty much any of my skirts or layered over various dresses.

Eileen Fisher Slouch Ankle Pants, $13

These pants were BRAND NEW with the $158 tags on them! I found them on the 75% off clearance rack at one of my favorite consignment shops, so their final purchase price was just $13. They are very soft and are great for hanging around the house or teleworking days. With that being said, they are totally worth the $13 purchase. However, I would NEVER pay $158 or even $50 for these pants. They are (super soft) sweatpants and bag out a bit throughout the day… absolutely nothing fancy.

Ann Taylor cardigan, $6

This black cardigan was another clearance rack find (different store though), and I can’t pass up a classic cardigan in new condition for just $6.

Lou & Grey Wanderweave Cutout Midi Dress, $18

Source: Loft.com

This dress is actually still being sold on the Loft website and was originally $90. It’s very lightweight and will be absolutely perfect for traveling or the beach, since it can fold down to teeny-tiny without getting all wrinkly. I like the pockets and the cute cutout back and think it will be wonderful for those super hot and steamy summer days. It is quite long though, so it’s possible I may take the hem up a bit after wearing it a few times.

Johnny Was Top, $64

This was the most expensive item I purchased all day long, but I don’t regret it a bit. This Johnny Was top/jacket/shacket retailed for $280 and I really love the plaid and embroidered flower design. It will be a great topper over a graphic tee and jeans. I love how the flannel inside the cuffs, placket and back neckline is super soft and a contrasting lighter pink pattern.

Here is how I wore it over this past weekend:
