I listen to music ALL the time. In my car on my commute to work, all day long while sitting at my computer, on my iPhone while running.
Pretty much, all the livelong day.
With a few exceptions, my musical tastes aren’t great. Typically I like trashy pop music that makes me want to dance around like a fool. Usually while sitting in traffic and avoiding the stares of the person in the vehicle next to me.
The last few days, I’ve been revisiting the Rent soundtrack and singing along at the top of my lungs. From this I’ve learned two things: I still know almost every single word to the entire soundtrack; and it is impossible for me to get through the end of Act 2 without crying off my makeup.
Recently, while bopping along to my “Kitchen Jams” mix while making dinner, one of my favorites came on: Hey, Julie by Fountains of Wayne.
I immediately remembered the first time I heard the song. I was watching Scrubs (one of the best shows ever and the reason that my kid has the initials J.D.) and Mandy Moore was guest staring as Julie. She was a little dorky, kind of clumsy, enthralled by wizards and RODE A SCOOTER. So yeah, my husband immediately pointed and laughed at me.

Yup! Michelle by the Beatles and My Michelle by Guns-n-Roses. It sucked in the70s and 80s when I was always 1 of 3 or 4 Michelles in a class. Now I don’t mind it.

So funny! When I was in high school a friend and I randomly started searching for songs with our names in the title and listened to a good chunk of them. It was so entertaining!
“Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield. People sing this to me more than you’d think, not realizing that Jessie is a guy in the song. A guy from my gym sings, “I wish that I had Jessy’s curls!” to the same tune which is fun 🙂

there is a a couple of songs I know that have jennifer in it. The most notable one I can think of is the M2M’s Jennifer song. However, I really don’t associate myself with the song besides the she’s nice…because I’d like to think im described that way lol.
My name is not a song, but I’m also kind of glad haha. My last name was Clement so I often got the darling clementine song 🙂
Heh, oh my gosh, even though people call me either Jennifer or Jenn, I almost always get the 867-5309 song. People are like “Hey Jenny, can I call you?” Ugh.
