I shared our last TV show binge list back in April, so I figured now is a good time for an update. Here’s what we’ve been watching over the last 5ish months:
Ted Lasso (on Apple TV)
I mentioned back in April that we were binging the first three seasons of Ted Lasso. Well, we caught up to real life and have been enjoying a weekly viewing of each episode of season four as it is released.
While I do miss the men’s team members from the first three seasons, the ladies’ team is growing on me. I love the callbacks to the previous seasons that they work in (and that Jaime Tartt visit!) and the rollercoaster of emotions that come with each episode.
Reacher (on Amazon Prime Video)
I think we started watching Reacher when the second season came out – so we were able to binge the first season and then eventually caught up and finished the second season a bit slower. So then, when season three came out in February 2025, we were locked in from the moment it dropped.
Season four started releasing in mid-August, so once a week we had our Reacher date. Well, we would typically start with Ted Lasso (for some warm fuzzies) and then follow it up with Reacher (for some kick some ass NOT warm fuzzies). With that being said, season 4 was not my favorite of the storylines, but I do love me some Alan Ritchson both on and off the screen. The show has been renewed for season five and will absolutely be on our watch list.
Bonus: the spin off, Neagley, premiered on September 16th and dropped ALL the episodes of the whole season at once. So right now, we’ve been watching one episode per night and loving it.
Ride or Die (on Amazon Prime Video)
We love Hannah Waddingham from Ted Lasso and the trailer for Ride or Die looked pretty darn great. The pairing of Hannah and Octavia Spencer was fantastic and we enjoyed the friendship + action mix.
The season went by quite quickly and left off with an opening for a second season. Unfortunately, it was recently announced that it would not be renewed. So, if you haven’t seen it… it is certainly worth watching the first season and it still ends on a satisfying note.
The Afterparty (on Apple TV)
Okay, we have mixed thoughts on The Afterparty. We absolutely LOVED season one! It is a comedic murder mystery, where the mystery is introduced in the first episode and then each episode shows a different person’s point of view as you’re trying to solve the who-done-it murder. Each point of view is in a different style – like a rom com, a musical, an action movie, etc. It was fun and fresh and we were excited to solve the mystery. LOVED it.
However, the second season was not as great. It was repetitive, boring, many characters were just obnoxious, and we didn’t even finish watching it. So, I’d highly recommend watching the first season and maybe just skip the second.
Will Trent (on Hulu)
When we re-subscribed to Hulu last Black Friday, I was looking for some fun shows so that we got the most bang for our buck. We started watching Will Trent, which is a police procedural with an interesting group of characters. Since we were a few seasons behind, we just did a full binge of the first three seasons, which was a good way to get sucked into a new show.
We caught up with real life when season four was released in January 2026. The end of season four was a punch to the gut and we are waiting for season five. It looks like it should be coming out in early 2027, so we should have more Will Trent goodness to enjoy while bundled up on the couch this winter.
Resident Alien (on Netflix)
Resident Alien is our ‘fill in’ show. Basically, when we are in between episodes of other shows that are doing a slow release, we fit this one in. It’s a really fun sci-fi show staring Alan Tudyk and we all enjoy its humor and weirdness. There are four completed seasons and they knew the show was ending so they wrote a finale.
We’re only in season two with our binging, so I’m crossing my fingers that the finale is satisfying!
Do you have a bingeable TV show that we should add to our watch list?
