Reviewing Causebox: The Fall 2020 Box Reveal

YAY, it’s gift time! Sure, I know that I’m the one who orders (and pays for) my quarterly Causebox subscription, but it still feels like a gift that someone awesome has given me. And that someone awesome is ME!

About Causebox:
Every season, members receive a limited-edition curation of products from the leading socially conscious brands. Some of them are designed exclusively for Causebox. Each box is designed and filled with love. From the original artwork on the outside of the box, to the lovingly handmade products that fill it up, there is love in every detail. The cost is $49.95 per quarter if you subscribe annually, or $54.95 per quarter if you subscribe by the quarter.

If you would like to try a Causebox subscription, they are currently running a referral offer where you can get a free PMD Microderm ($159 value) when someone refers you. If you’d like a referral from me, just shoot me an email at pocketfulofjoules@gmail.com and I’ll send it over to your email address.

Let’s take a look at my Fall Causebox:

Waffle Towel Set from Bathen, $90 retail value

Annual subscribers had the opportunity to pick between a waffle bathrobe (charcoal or mint), or a waffle towel set (charcoal or mint). I already have a bathrobe I use regularly and didn’t really need another one, so I went for the charcoal towel set. The set includes two bath towels and two hand towels and it said to be a $90 value… which seems awfully high for four towels. I mean, really, really high for what you get!

The bath towels are smaller than I like (we are more of a bath sheet kinda family), so I figured I’d use them in my downstairs half-bath. Pictured here is one bath towel with a hand towel on top of it and… they are okay. I don’t love them and wouldn’t have picked them out myself, but they are fine for drying our hands.

Tribe Alive Rose Gold Criss-Cross Cuff, $42 retail value

For this category, I was able to choose between De-Stress Muscle Gel, the bracelet, or Volim Love face scrub. I saw some pretty lukewarm reviews of the muscle gel and I literally have a half dozen face scrubs sitting in my linen closet, so I went for the bracelet. The bracelet is handmade in Moradabad, India and features a criss-cross design in rose gold. It will be cute for stacking along with some of my other bracelets.

Artisan Direct Milky Way Lantern, $40 retail value

For this choice group, I wish I could have picked BOTH of them. However, I passed on the 3-in-1 tea tumbler (also can be used for cold coffee) and picked the Milky Way Lantern. It was ethically made by a team of artisans in India. The lantern has a gold finish and pretty stars, so when you light it you will get beautiful shadows on the walls. I put this out in my sun room and I think it looks super cute!

The Green Co. 10 Reusable Facial Rounds, $10 retail value

For my last choice, I got to pick between a Basil Grow Kit or a set of 10 Reusable Facial Rounds. I kill literally EVERY plant I own, so this was a very easy choice. Also, I’m really excited to try these facial rounds and I love that it came with its own little laundry bag for washing. When I wear eye makeup I use Almey eye rounds to take the makeup off, so it will be nice to have a reusable product to use instead.

Way of Will Brightening Face Serum, $37.50

This brightening face serum says it fights free radicals, hydrates skin, and is made with Vitamin A and C. The timing is great, as I’m almost out of my current face serum, so I can’t wait to give this one a try.

Core Bamboo Serve Set, $35 retail value

This bamboo set by Core Bamboo includes tongs, a spatula and a cutting board. Bamboo is one of the most renewable resources on the planet and this set is organically grown, FSC certified, and antibacterial. These are some of our high-use items in the kitchen, so we will get plenty of use out of this cute set.

Overall Thoughts

I really like this quarter’s Causebox and have already put most of the items to use. While I’m not blown away with the bamboo towels, they are useful and are currently in my downstairs bathroom. The bamboo serving set is perfect for us and I also really like the pretty rose gold bracelet. I’m also excited to try out the new face serum and reusable facial rounds. All in all, this box is a winner!
