Skincare: What I’m currently Using

I’ve started seeing a new esthetician and totally switched up my skincare routine from what I was previously doing (My 2021 Routine), so I thought I’d share because I’m SO HAPPY with it!

Here’s my current stash:

Face Wash: Farmhouse Fresh Green Tea Milk Wash Cream Cleanser, $27

I was previously using Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser, but my esthetician pointed out that my skin basically makes no oil and I need an even more moisturizing cleanser. She recommended this one and I’ve been using it for a month and really like it. I typically will use this every evening to wash my face.

If I feel dry in the morning, I’ll use it again then. But if my face is feeling good when I wake up, I just give it a wash with water and no cleanser. It feels really light and gentle on my skin and leaves it feeling really clean AND moisturized when I’m done. Also, a little goes a long way so this bottle will last me basically forever.

Serum: Eclat Vitamin C Serum, $9

My esthetician loved that I use a daily vitamin c serum, so I wanted to stick with it. However, I was previously using Way of Will Brightening Face serum and with the new moisturizing face wash it was just feeling too heavy on my skin. I found this Eclat version on Amazon – it’s only $9, has over 38,000 reviews, and a 4.5 star rating so I figured I’d give it a try.

This one is very different than my previous serum. I don’t notice a scent at all, it goes on much lighter and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy afterwards. Also, I actually feel that my skin has been clearer and brighter since I started using it. I use this twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening.

Face Lotion: Sunday Riley C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream, $65

I bought this probably a year ago or so to try, but didn’t love it at the time because with my previous serum it just felt too heavy. Well, my esthetician recommended I switch to a heavier moisturizer than my typical Purity Made Simple lotion, so I put this one back into rotation.

With the different serum and a lighter touch, I’ve grown to really love this moisturizer. I use this in the morning (wash face, then serum, then moisturizer). In the evening (wash face, then serum, then night cream), I am still using my previous favorite (DERMA-E Hydrating Night Cream, $19). Occasionally, I wake up and my face feels extra hydrated already, so I’ll use my Purity moisturizer after washing and serum, so I don’t feel too greasy.

Exfoliater: Bioelement Skin Editor, $39

This is the HERO product for me. My esthetician recommended this product specifically and sold it to me that day. This is a leave on AHA peel cream exfoliator that has 3% glycolic and 7% lactic acid. She told me to use it 3-4 times a week, so I pretty much use it every other night. First face wash, then serum, then Skin Editor, then night cream.

I feel like a high maintenance rock star in the evenings, but HOLY WOW this stuff makes my skin feel and look amazing. It claims to “edit skin imperfections and long-term damage to instantly smooth rough and bumpy texture, diminish dullness, brighten dark damage, improve clarity + color, target congestion, hydrate and reduce the look of lines, all without harsh skin-stripping or surface-scraping.” This stuff is so good and it’s hard to only use it every other night because when I wake up the next morning my skin is glowing!
