This month is an extra special thrift haul, because I had some time on my hands… and I was bored. After scoring some super fun finds at my favorite thrift store, I threw everything in the wash and decided to do a little ‘try on’ party.
Here’s what I found:
Vintage brand bow skirt, $9
I’m guessing this is from the 80’s or 90’s based on the tag and it is quite swishy! It’s got a fabulous bow on the front and gigantic pockets. Even better it’s marked “one size” and apparently that size is my size.
I paired it with a sparkly t-shirt for a fun weekend look:
Sonoma Tencel shirt, $8
I’ve been on a bit of denim top kick for work lately, so when I saw this one with some fun stripes on it I knew it would be a perfect addition to my collection. The Tencel fabric is super lightweight and soft and it’s a bit oversized which works great for knotting.
I tried it with a mustard colored skirt (that was previously a dress before I got my scissors on it):
Boss Hugo Boss metallic bronze skirt, $8
This one was the ‘score of the day’ in that it is a Boss by Hugo Boss skirt and was marked at $12 and then on sale for just $8. I did a little googling and found it online for a retail price of $335! The waistband is currently a little *aspirational* but perhaps in the fall I’ll be a tad less fluffy around the middle. I love the sparkly bronze fabric and it will be fabulous for fall/winter work outfits.
Here it is styled for work with a J.Crew denim shirt I previously thrifted:
J.Crew shirt, $8
Another shirt for my work closet. I’ve been looking for a lighter alternative to my denim shirt for super swampy days and this one is perfect! The buttons only go about halfway down and the shirt is oversized enough to fit in the bust without pulling (yay).
I styled it for work with a secondhand pleated skirt and obi belt (both Poshmark purchases over the years):
Pallet picture, $5
This pallet is a handmade project and I bought it for the wood. I plan to either sand off the paint and re-stain it, or sand it and paint over the entire thing for an art project. For $5 it’s a great price point for me to have a little fun!
I like that outfit the best, the colorful skirt and denim shirt. Really cute. I think I have a few denim shirts. I am going to try tying them like that. Thanks for sharing. Do you have jewelry you collect, too?
Thank you Nancy! I do have a few pieces of jewelry I love and I’ll make a note to share them in a post soon…
