Reviewing Tiggly Math

Do you remember when I won a Kindle for Kids at BlogHer over the summer? Well, Jack LOVES his Kindle and it has come in super handy on long car rides, vacations and um… when he’s just being really grumpy and nothing stops the whining.

As you can see, Ollie kind of wants one too…

Well, when my friends at Tiggly reached out about a really cool interactive learning system that works WITH the Kindle, my interest was piqued.

The Tiggly Math Learning System is for kids ages 3 – 7 and includes five interactive math toys and three apps – Tiggly Cardtoons Counting, Tiggly Chef and Tiggly Addventure.

Before I received our set in the mail, I watched this video to see if it would be appropriate for Jack since he’s on the lower end of the age range:

I was immediately interested in the fact that the Tiggly Math concepts are based on the Montessori way of teaching. Jack started at a Montessori preschool over the summer and has really been thriving in that environment.

So, I shouldn’t have been surprised when Jack immediately figured out how to play with the Tiggly Chef game. My jaw totally dropped when he grabbed the correct tool time and time again when choosing the amounts of ‘ingredients’ to add into the chef’s recipe.

He has no idea he was even doing math, but playing games like this is a fun way to get ready for learning those concepts.

If you are interested in checking out Tiggly Math or their other learning systems, you can check out their website here. Their systems are compatible not only with the Kindle, but most generations of iPads and leading android devices.

Disclosure: Tiggly provided me with Tiggly Math for review purposes; however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
