Rather than just leave it to updating my yearly book list as I finish each book, I like to give you all smaller recommendation lists as we go through the year. So, if you’re looking for some of my favorite books of 2023 to add to your TBR pile this fall, you’re in the right place!
You can read my mini synopsis and thoughts if you click through to my 2023 Book List, or you can just take my word for it that these are the best of the best, and start reading!
(Psssst… you can find my summer list here)
- With Love From London by Sarah Jio (Book #65 of 2023): A comforting read that was bittersweet and romantic with strong friendships. I wanted to jump into the pages and live there for awhile.
- A Curious Beginning (A Veronica Speedwell Mystery, 1) by Deanna Raybourn (Book #50 of 2023) Actually, the entire Veronica Speedwell series (Book #50, #55, #56. #58, #60, #67, #68, #75). There are 8 books so far in the series and I’ve devoured them all. The series is set in the late 1800’s, but Veronica Speedwell is no boring lady. She’s a woman of science and solves mysteries with her handsome man friend, Stoker.
- The Do Over by Sharon M. Peterson (Book #80 of 2023): A fun book of a woman who finally reaches a breaking point in her life and decides to make change happen because she DESERVES it!
- Even When You Lie by Michelle Cruz (Book #86 of 2023): If you like suspenseful legal dramas, you’ll love this mystery that keeps you guessing to the end.
- Magical Midlife Battle (Leveling Up Book 8) By K.F. Breene (Book #87 of 2023): Actually, read the entire Leveling Up series if you haven’t read it yet, it’s AMAZING if you love a hilarious ‘woman kicks butt’ fantasy series. This series is guaranteed to have me laughing out loud. With a book. By myself.
- When in Rome by Sarah Adams (Book #3 of 2023) and Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams (Book #89 of 2023): Two fabulous romances set in the town of Rome, Kentucky. The first book focuses on the pop star and the surly pie maker. The second book is the pop star’s bodyguard and the pie maker’s shy sister. So, so good!
Happy Reading!

Yes!!! Love the Veronica speedwell and K.F Breene.
Hi, thanks for sharing! I do have one by K.F. Breene, but haven’t gotten to it yet. If you like fantasy, a series by Nora Roberts is really good. The Dragonheart series, Awakening, Becoming, and, The Choice. Funny characters, and a good strong woman as the heroine. I wish there was a fourth book!
I will read your recommendations, they all sound good!
