Do you remember how much fun I had when I did a DietBet?
Okay, maybe I’m using the word “FUN” wrong… but I lost weight, which was pretty awesome.
For those of you not familiar with this DietBet thing, the short version is that I bet $30 on an online website that I could lose 4% of my weight in 4 weeks (here’s the long version). At the end of the Bet, the winnings in the pot of everyone who participated were divided between the winners (after they take their fee out). So, in addition to losing 8 pounds, I also won $49.88.
The DietBet I played ended at the end of February and I continued to drop a bit of weight… but I seem to have plateaued.
I mean, I know WHY I plateaued… it kind of has to do with eating more, sneaking peeps and um… sleeping in more than I exercise. Basically, I’m back to my same old shenanigans. I HAVE kept steady at my weight though, which is 14 pounds less than when I started my DietBet. So yay for me.
But I want more. MUCH MORE!
Now that I’ve finally made it down to my pre-pregnancy weight, I’d like to get down to my pre-marriage weight. Which is still a LONG way away.
Since the DietBet did such a good job at motivating me before, I decided to do it again. This time, I decided to invite some of my friends to play too… Kari from A Grace Full Life and Chrissy from Quirky Chrissy!
Oh yeah, and YOU!!
Do you want to join us and lose some weight? I’d love it if you would join in on the fun!*
The Pocketful of Quirky Grace DietBet starts on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. All participants will weigh-in and submit pictures with code words to prove your starting weight on May 4th or 5th. Everyone’s goal is to lose 4% of their body weight within the designated time.
After the four weeks, you submit more pictures with code words for your ending weight. Don’t worry, all pictures and weight amounts are confidential!
During the bet, you can stop by our special DietBet page at any time to chat with the group and keep everyone motivated. There is even a DietBet app that you can download for free to keep everything at your fingertips. At the end of the bet, the total amount of money in the pot is split between all the winners (after they take out their fee). If we ALL win, DietBet will not take out a fee and everyone gets their $20 back!

I’d love it if a bunch of readers all signed up and we encouraged each other to lose a few of those pesky winter pounds! Do you want to play with us?

Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by DietBet or anyone else. I just had such a great experience with my previous DietBet that I thought I’d try it again with some friends!
* Still not using the word “fun” correctly…
Can’t wait! I’m going to be SO skinny by September! (That’s my plan.)
Heck YEAH and we will all be looking FINE and SASSY at BlogHer this summer! =)
Count me in! I just need to double-check with my husband (we approve each other’s expenses to keep us straight financially). This should be fun!
By the way, I think it is funny that the post prior to this one is “No Buts Allowed”. I keep reading it in my head as “No BuTTs Allowed”, as it seems more appropriate. Although, even if I lost half of my body weight (not going to happen), I’d still have a big ol’ booty.
AWESOME! We’re glad to have you join us! =) Feel free to share the link with your blog readers too, the more the merrier!
Alright, I’m in. I have a daunting amount of weight to lose, so hopefully this will kickstart me into it. It will make me healthier and please my doctor. Now I have to buy a scale. Oh boy.
YAY, I’m so glad you’ll be joining us!
As for a scale, I bought this one when my last one died and I really like it: EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale w/ Extra Large Lighted Display, 400 lb. Capacity and “Step-On” Technology [2013 VERSION] – 10,000+ Reviews EatSmart Guaranteed Accurate
I AM SCARED.
