Emma & Chloe Subscription Box: January Reveal

This month is the last month of my Emma & Chloe jewelry subscription. To be honest, after last month’s brewhaha I’m actually kind of glad for this subscription to end.

Here are all my Emma & Chloe reveals:
September reveal
October reveal
November reveal
December reveal (and brewhaha)

Let’s check out the January Box:

The featured designer for January 2018 is Marine, founder of Vous Mademoiselle. Born and raised in the North of France, this young and creative spirit is passionate about Architecture and Art Deco. You can read an interview with Marine here.

To be honest, when they first announced the designer I didn’t like her jewelry much. The necklace she’s wearing in her photo is terrible and I was hoping that we wouldn’t receive something similar.

Here’s what we received for January: the Liane pendant necklace, retail price $86

Inspired by Art Deco architecture, the Liane necklace contains a half-circle pendant with geometric cutouts. Marie, the brains behind the design, describes her aesthetic as retro, yet modern. She loves to discover small details and reinterpret them into unique jewelry.

Here it is on me, so you can see the length of the chain. I literally just rolled out of bed before snapping this photo… so it is strategically cropped to avoid tired eyes and unbrushed hair…

After trying it on, I actually do like this necklace. I like the heaviness of the chain and that you can turn it around to just plain gold if you want a different look. The length is also good for lots of different necklines. Best of all, it’s not something I would have picked out for myself.

Over the past few months, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Emma & Chloe’s jewelry subscription box. While I have received a few pieces that I really love, I’m also really disappointed at their wishy-washy customer service and misleading advertising. My absolute favorite piece I received was the November bracelet (of which I currently have two… sigh). I still haven’t worn either pair of earrings, so I’m going to make that a priority so I didn’t totally waste my money. All in all, I’m not sure that I’d recommend this box and will not be re-subscribing.

What do you think of the Emma & Chloé subscription?
