My Style: November Favorite Outfits

I love the holiday season, with one exception… it just flies by so quickly.

Of course, it doesn’t help matters when the local radio station decided to go to an ALL Christmas format in the middle of November (only to get such backlash that they went back to their normal format 3 days later!) I’m a firm believer in as much as I love me some Christmas decorations and twinkly lights, I do NOT unpack them until after Thanksgiving!

However once Black Friday comes around, it’s a free-for-all in Christmas décor all up in the Joules house! And don’t even get me started on my love for Christmas music…

So, before I break out my red and green, let’s take a look back at my November favorite outfits! If you see something you like, I’ve made it easy for you to steal my style with links for each item, as well as some similar styles at different price points. If you want to check out previous My Style posts, you can find them here.

Look #1: Comfy Casual

My Style November 1

The T-shirt
When I share my outfits on Instagram, I usually just show my workday looks. However, this is what I typically look like when I’m dressed on weekends, or when I work from home all day and then throw clothes on to do kid pick-up. I love this Hustlin Mama t-shirt from Mulberry press and I wear it all the time (I’m wearing a unisex size large).

The Cardi
The flowy cardi that I’m wearing is the Market & Spruce Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan from Stitch Fix (this one from last year) If you randomly knocked on my door on a day that I was home, chances are that I would be wearing this. I wear it ALL THE TIME because it is super comfortable and awfully cute too. Market & Spruce is a Stitch Fix brand, so as much as I’d like to tell you where to buy it… you’d have to ask for them to send it to you in a Fix (if you do, use my referral code and I’ll do a happy dance!) If you want to try one that is similar, check out the Airport Cardigan from Modcloth which has a ton of great reviews and comes in five different colors!

The Jeans
I love Kut from the Kloth jeans and these are called the Toothpick Skinny style. I picked them up at Nordstrom Rack last year. These Jennifer Ultra Skinny jeans look quite similar and are less than $40. If you want to check out the exact pair I have, I found them here on Amazon with free shipping: KUT from the Kloth Women’s Mia Toothpick Skinny Jean.

The Boots
I talked about these boots in my November Stitch Fix review and I wear them almost every single day that I’m not at work (and some days that I work too…). They are from Clarks and called the Valora Sky in Dark Brown Leather. They are super comfortable, really awesome looking and are even on sale! You’ll be seeing A LOT more pictures of me wearing these this winter.

Look #2: Sassy Suit Combo

My Style November 2

The Blouse & Blazer
When I have to wear a suit, I try really hard to keep it from being super boring and stuffy. So when I had to dress up for work a couple weeks ago I decided to try mixing my elephant print blouse (here’s a similar one at Modcloth) with a fun grid blazer that I recently picked up at Target for $34.99! I bought myself the black and white plaid version, but I also really like the Xavier Navy design too.

The Shoes
These are the perfect black shoes that I posted about last month and they are my absolute favorite flats! They literally needed no breaking in time at all and I’ve been wearing them to work almost nonstop since I bought them. The best part is that they are $50! They are called the 14th & Union Alexis Flat and I have them in Black Snake.

Look #3: A Stretchy Outfit for Eating

My Style November 3

The Sweater
There is nothing worse than going to a big holiday dinner and being super uncomfortable the entire time you’re eating. Well, bring on the oversized sweater AND seconds, because I’m pretty much wearing this outfit all winter long. This is the Renee C Pullover top from my September Stitch Fix, but I found a similar version at Banana Republic in cotton and cashmere. This long sleeved knit tunic sweater from Old Navy has a similar oversized shape too. I also like the look of stealing an oversized man’s v-neck sweater and have one that is almost identical to this one that I stole from Travis and “accidentally” shrunk

The Pants
I wear these all the time and have talked about them quite often. These are the Democracy Ab Solution Booty Lift Jeggings and they are totally the bees knees. If you have a Nordstrom Rack by you, I’ve noticed that they’ve been stocked up the last few times I’ve visited. You can also find limited sizes here: in black and in a super dark blue. They also still have them on Amazon here: Democracy Women’s AB Solution and Booty Lift Technology Jegging.

The Boots
Yup, still wearing my Clarks!

The Necklace
I love this necklace and have worn it almost nonstop since I scored it at Anthropologie on super clearance from $80 marked down to $20. I actually highly recommend stalking the Anthro clearance section, because I’ve gotten some really cool jewelry there. I did a quick check of their sale section online and found this beautiful pendant marked down from $68 to $39 and this pendant marked down from $58 to $29.

Do you have a favorite November look?

My Style: October Favorite Outfits

What an absolutely gorgeous month! Not only has the weather been pretty fabulous this October, but the leaves are ON POINT right now.

Check out this picture I snapped last weekend before my run. And I use the word ‘run’ loosely, because I was basically oohing and aaahhhing over the leaves so much that it was more like a slow trot.

I took a look through my October pictures and have three of my favorite outfits to share with you. If you see something you like, I’ve made it easy for you to steal my style with links for each item, as well as some similar styles at different price points. If you want to check out previous My Style posts, you can find them here.

Look #1: A Darker Take on Floral

October Style 1

The Dress
One of my favorite things about transitioning my clothes from summer to fall is that I can introduce darker colors again. I just don’t feel right wearing head-to-toe black when it’s 100 degrees in August. This darker floral dress is exactly my cup o’ tea though and I’m hoping to be able to wear it a couple more times before it’s too cold to think about wearing a skirt again. I received my dress in my September Stitch Fix and it’s called the Maggy London Izan Floral Dress.

They actually carry a really good selection of Maggy London dresses on Amazon and I found this super similar one called the Maggy London Women’s Paint Brush Flower Chiffon Fit and Flare for $158. They also have this version for much less: Maggy London Women’s Smudge Blossom Scuba Fit-and-Flare Dress.

The Sweater
I have a few different black sweaters – short sleeved, mid-arm, long sleeved – but with a dress I like the look of a more fitted cardigan. This one is just a simple black sweater that I picked up a couple years ago from Marshalls. It’s almost identical to the J.Crew Factory Clare cardigan that I now have in three colors.

The Shoes
You’ve seen these shoes a few times over the summer and this is probably the very last time until things warm back up again in the spring. If you’re looking to scoop up any end-of-season shoe sales, check out these simple Tom’s sandals in super limited sizes and these Seychelles are to die for.

Look #2: Olive and a Pop of Blue

October Style 2

The Blouse
I saw this blouse go up for sale on one of those Facebook sale pages and I JUMPED on it because it was love at first sight. It is a Stitch Fix top, but really has that eclectic Anthropologie vibe that I love. This one has the same feeling, but much more luxe: Binah Scalloped Shell. I can totally see pairing this with a skirt and burgundy sweater for holiday parties! This much more reasonably priced blouse from Old Navy has a similar boho feel at a fraction of the cost.

The Pants
I’m relatively new to the world of colored pants, so these olive pants were a great neutral stepping-stone for me. I received these pants in my February Stitch Fix and they are called the Kut from the Kloth Denna Colored Skinny Jean, even though they aren’t actually jean’s material. They look a lot like these Diana Stretch Twill pants from Nordstrom. If you prefer something a little warmer, I’m loving this corduroy version in dark olive. Actually I love the mosaic blue version too and wish they were on sale!

The Sweater
You’ve seen it before and you’ll see it again and again and again. What can I say, the J.Crew Factory Clare cardigan is a favorite!

The Shoes
Here’s another pair of favorite sandals that I just packed away for winter. I didn’t really find any super awesome deals on Sam Edelman sandals – which is annoying since it’s the end of the season – but if you do the legwork I normally snap them up this time of year at Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack!

Look #3: Polka Dots make me Happy

October Style 3

The Blouse
I woke up super grumpy, so I reached for this cute polka dot blouse because NOBODY can stay grumpy while wearing polka dots! I’ve had this blouse for a while, having received it in my July 2014 Stitch Fix and it’s the Pomelo Missy Polka Dot Tab-Sleeve Blouse. This one from Loft is super cute (and on super clearance, final sale for size medium). If you want something a little more structured, this non-iron dot shirt from Banana Republic would look great mixed with pretty much everything in your wardrobe.

The Pants
I talked about these pants in last month’s post and I actually JUST retired one of my pairs from last year, so I now “only” have three pairs. They are the Democracy Ab Solution Booty Lift Jeggings and they are totally the bees knees.

While I was shopping around for you, I also found these Democracy colored jeans so I ordered a pair since I’ve been dying for a pair of burgundy jeans.  I’ll keep you posted on how they fit!

The Shoes
These are the perfect black shoes that I posted about earlier this month and they are my absolute favorite flats! They literally needed no breaking in time at all and I’ve been wearing them to work almost nonstop since I bought them. The best part is that they are $50! They are called the 14th & Union Alexis Flat and I have them in Black Snake.

Bonus Boot Recommendation
For years and years I was super jealous of all those ladies who could rock a knee-high boot, because I could never find a pair that fit my calves. Which is funny, because I didn’t realize that apparently I have hulk-like calves until I started trying on boots. If I could get a pair to fit, they then had that super weird baggy elephant ankle thing going on.

Do you know what I mean, or is it just me?!

Anyways, last year I found a pair of black Naturalizer wide-leg boots that I fell in love with and wore almost every single day while it was cold and snowy. I wore them so much, that I figured it would be a good idea to invest in a brown pair for this year. They aren’t exactly like last year’s version, but they are gorgeous, fit my (apparently) huge calves, and are less than $100. So, if you are looking for a pair be sure to try these out! Here are the brown ones I bought and here they are in black.

My Style: September Favorite Outfits & Giveaway!

What the heck, you guys…where did September go?! Just a moment ago I was looking forward to a little cooler weather and pumpkin spice everything and suddenly October is on Thursday.

I AM NOT ready for this quite yet!

As I’ve done for the last few months, I sifted through my Instagram and picked a few of my favorite looks from this month. If you see something you like, I’ve made it easy for you to steal my style with links for each item if it is still available, as well as some similar styles at different price points. If you want to check out previous My Style posts, you can find them here.

Here are my three favorite September looks:

Look #1: The ‘like summer and fall had a baby’ outfit

My Style - September look 1

The Tank Top
This outfit is pretty much my answer to the question of “how do you dress for fall when it’s still 90 degrees outside?” This tank top is called the Morning Glory Tank and I bought it a couple months ago when Anthropologie was having their super summer sales. The pretty mix of colors makes it really easy to transition into the fall with a sweater and I know I’ll get some more wear out of it before I pack it away for the super cold winter season. The one I have is long gone, but this one by the same designer has a similar feel (and is currently on sale): the Orabel Tank.

The Skirt
Here’s another super deal from the summer, it’s the Diamond Cut Skirt from Anthro and I got it when it was $148 marked down to $20. I know, it was a mega score and I kind of feel guilty sharing that since it’s all sold out. Sorry! I think that a burgundy circle skirt is a pretty great fall find though, so I found you the Bugle Boy skirt from Modcloth that has a similar shape. I actually own this exact skirt in Olive and have been meaning to hem it a little shorter so I can start wearing it with boots this fall. If you do decide to go for this version, make sure to check out the sizing information. If I remember correctly, this skirt fits small so I had to go up a size or two (whatever, I’ll just cut out the tag…)

The Shoes
I’ve posted these shoes a bunch of times because I pretty much wear them all summer long, they are discontinued but here are some similar looks: Honey Elisabeth Snake and Ariat Oro gladiators.

Look #2: Bring on the Critters

My style - September look 2

The Blouse
I’ve never really been much of a critter print kind of girl, but when I saw someone selling this elephant top on a Facebook Buy/Sell page I just had to have it! I tracked the top down and it’s called the Popover Shell top by Oat + Fawn in Elephants. Since I bought my second-hand, it is no longer in stores. However, I found the Safari As I Can See top from Modcloth that also features elephants. Or, you can skip the shirt and try a super adorable elephant scarf for less than $10: Blue Elephant Print Scarf.

The Sweater
I know, I know… these My Style posts are getting kind of repetitive with the amount of times I re-wear stuff! Here is my blue J.Crew cardigan yet AGAIN and you can find it here: the J.Crew Factory Clare cardigan in a ton of colors.

The Pants
These pants are the Democracy Ab Solution Booty Lift Jeggings and they are AMAZING. I bought a pair at Nordstrom Rack last year and loved them so much that I went back and bought another pair. I wore them ALL winter and spring and they still look as good as new (which didn’t stop me from buying a couple back-up pairs when I saw them on sale a few weeks ago).

What makes them so great? Well, they feel like the softest, stretchy-ist black jeans on the planet and they have an elastic waistband hiding behind the zipper/button top. Also, I’ve had them pass for work trousers. Boom, BEST pants ever. They don’t have them available on the Nordstrom Rack online site, but I’ve seen them in stores within the past few weeks. If you feel like doing the legwork to check your local Rack, I usually get them for less than $40. I also found them on Amazon here: Democracy Women’s AB Solution and Booty Lift Jegging.

The Shoes
I have been wearing these sandals pretty much non-stop since I got them, because they are a great transition shoe to go from summer to fall. I lucked out and found them at ThredUp for a steal, but they look SO MUCH like these Steve Madden fringe sandals that I was stalking all summer long. They’re pricey at $80 and I can’t believe that they still haven’t gone on sale yet!

Look #3: A Printed Dress and Booties Rocking Everywhere

My Style - September look 3

The Dress
I bought this Anne Klein dress at TJ Maxx in the spring and really love the fact that the fabric doesn’t wrinkle so I can get through a 12 hour workday and still look professional. I found my exact dress (only in sizes 10,14 and 16) on Amazon here: Anne Klein Swing Dress. I also found this one with a similar shape but a black and white polka dotted pattern: Anne Klein Polka Dot Fit-and-Flare Dress.

The Shoes
I bought these booties last year, but I’ve just finally gotten used to the way that they look with dresses. I wasn’t really sure about hopping on the bootie train, but when I found these on super clearance for $17 I figured I might as well try them out. Mine are DV by Dolce Vita (found at the Rack, of course) and I found a pair with a similar suede look, wooden heel and fun tassel here: DV by Dolce Vita Women’s Joust Ankle Boot. Here is another similar pair by the same brand and here is one with an open toe AND open back.

My New Favorite Fall Polish Set

Since we are talking about fall transition, I absolutely must mention the new essie fall collection of colors. My friends at Red Door Spa sent them over to me as a #GalSquad perk and I’m totally OBSESSED with the ‘leggy legend’ color. It’s like the perfect copper penny shade for toenails or fingernails for this time of year!
